We live in a global context where there is an urgent need to move towards a green and circular economy and where consumer pressure for sustainable products is increasing. For this reason, it is essential that we all have the same and true understanding of sustainable production and that we combat misinformation.
This project objective is to facilitate transparency and a common and true understanding of sustainable practices and concepts through the creation of an online platform. This understanding will avoid intentional or unintentional greenwashing by companies in the footwear, apparel and related sectors.
By the end of the project, VETting Green outcomes will have empowered future and current workers, as well as consumers of footwear and apparel products. As a result, the target audience will be able to distinguish real sustainable business models from those that appear to be sustainable due to greenwashing marketing techniques. This outcome will be achieved by using digital tools with a learner-centred approach.
